Encoders for CNC Machining Applications

Encoders are crucial in machine tools, providing position feedback for control and input in terms of speed, accuracy, and repeatability. Linear, rotary, and angular encoders vary based on requirements such as direction changes and precision needs.

There are different types of encoders based on the interaction of light and marks or the variation in resistance. Auxiliary encoders are used for more complex 6-axis machining applications, while grid encoders are used for the calibration of high-precision parts.
