We focus on the design and manufacturing of small, complex precision industrial parts, boasting a team of engineers with 14 years of stamping experience.

What are the uses of castings?

Metal castings are employed in nearly any application you can think of. Over 90% of manufactured goods and capital equipment use castings as engineering components or rely on castings in their manufacturing processes. Various branches of the U.S. military rely on metal castings for tanks, trucks, jet engines, and other critical components. Metal castings find applications in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) applications for both capital and consumer goods. Castings are also used in automotive, trucking, marine, and railway equipment, as well as other modes of transportation. In essence, castings represent vital yet fundamental aspects of our everyday lives.

Working Conditions of Die Casting Molds

The working conditions of die casting molds are particularly harsh compared to other molds. Due to the different metals used in die casting, they must withstand high pressures ranging from 150 to 500 MPa.

During operation, they come into contact with molten metal at temperatures ranging from 300℃ to 1000℃, with varying injection temperatures for different die casting alloys. The constant heating and cooling cycles result in significant temperature gradients along the cross-section.

Severe wear occurs when molten metal is injected into the mold cavity at high speeds of 150m/s to 70m/s.

Due to the erosive effect of liquid metal, metal tends to adhere to the mold cavity surface, even penetrating and corroding the mold surface.

Other Requirements for Die Casting Mold Steel

Die casting can produce parts with complex shapes, high precision, small surface roughness, and excellent mechanical properties. Therefore, die casting mold steel should meet the following requirements:

1.Higher high-temperature strength and toughness

2.Excellent high-temperature wear resistance, oxidation resistance, and anti-tempering stability

3.Good thermal fatigue performance

4.High resistance to melting damage

5.Good hardenability, minimal heat treatment deformation

6.Good machinability and grinding performance

7.Uniform and defect-free internal material structure

FAQ

Q: What standard tolerances do you guarantee?

We ensure that all CNC machined parts and other components without specific tolerance requirements adhere to the ISO 2768 standard. The machined parts will adhere to ISO 2768-m (medium) or ISO 2768-f (fine). For stricter axial tolerances, we offer a free custom quotation service.

Q: Do you have a minimum order quantity?

For orders below $600, there will be a handling fee of $170, which includes trailer, customs clearance fees, and other related charges.
